Hello traveling comrades! Today, I want to introduce you one of my favorite places I have been. The wonderful Hearst Castle! A place full of magic, history, enchantment, and a beautiful view.

Castles are not only in Europe

Whoever thought castles belonged in the medieval times, or places like England, Germany, Ireland, and many other countries? Well, America has many surprises for you.

When we think about castles, we think about medieval times. Wars, swords, knights, kings, queens, princess, heroes, beasts, dragons, etc. All that comes to our minds. oh man, were we wrong? yes, we were.

Here, in America, we have a long list of castles, which you can enjoy if you are interested in visiting new places, or if you like to visit castles, on your spare time. Lists of castles in America

How I got to be Here?

How I got to know this marvelous place? Well, here's the story:

I remember I was hungry for an adventure (actually, starving... sort of speak) I used to stay at home, and not go out, because, most of the time, well, I used to spend most of my time, alone. But, I learned, that i want to accomplish something, first, I gotta put it in my mind, first.

For a long time, I dreamed about, I do not know if they were castles, temples, churches or cathedrals. The point is, I used to dream about those magnificent looking buildings. One day, I said to myself, one day, I will be in one of those places.

One day, I was browsing on the internet, and I found an article about castles in America. Well, your traveling friend (me), interested if he could find a castle that is close, found the wonderful, Hearst castle. So, I grabbed a paper, and wrote it down, along with some other castles.
After that, i Google mapped it, and it was just a matter of time until I visit it.

How it All Started

There was a time, in the Gold Rush era, when everybody wanted to be rich. So, Mr. George Hearst, and his wife, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, created an empire with a gold mine. With that fortune, they raised their son, William Randolph Hearst. He was raised with a rich mentality, traveling experiences, and love from his family. He had the vision of creating his own castle, a place where he can spend relaxing days. It all started as a summer house, but that summer house, became a castle, full of splendor and magic.

How Does it Feel to Be Here?

Well, you can feel mixed emotions here. if you ever wanted to feel like a Vampire, dwelling in a castle, well, that is the place here. You can also feel like an adventurer, exploring a rare place, that not everyone would like to be. When i was there, I just wanted to explore every corner of that place. Up, down, left, right. I wanted to take a picture of every single angle, so i can look at it later on. And, believe it or not, I still look at the pictures, and find something new.

Where is it Located?

You must be saying, okay you talk wonders about this place. Now, how can you get there, you ask me? Well, now that the technology is so dynamic in finding places, you can use Google Maps, MapQuest, or other type of locator. (I think I wouldn't make it without Google Maps). Some people say is located in Cambria, Ca, but the map says it's located in the city of San Simeon, Ca. I'm gonna give you a hint, so you can get more excited. You can find this place near the Pacific Coast Highway. That means, not only the thrill of knowing the place is gonna excite you, but the driving, the view, I mean, you are just gonna love your trip to Hearst Castle.

Conclusion

Well, dear adventurous souls, there you have it. A wonderful place so you can spend the day, or weekend. Because, not only Hearst Castle is gonna amaze you, but the places around it. The emotions, the feelings, and the excitement, all of us, are gonna feel it different. It's up; to you, how you let your imagination fly when you are there. I even felt like writing a story, based on the castle, but that, will be later on, when I can arrange my ideas.
